Starbucks #freepastryday is a scam

I went into the store at about 10:00 a.m. this morning with this coupon for a free pastry.

The man at the counter said there were no more free pastries left, when there was clearly a full case.

My colleague Christine also experienced a problem. The fine print on the coupon included apple fritters, but she wasn’t able to get one.

Terrible!! Unfollow them if you already do. And never go there again.

Here is the store that screwed us.

    That's odd, I had no issues getting my apple fritter for free this am. That stinks that you couldnt get one…

    well it says that they are giving the new, trans-fat, dye free, healthy etc. pastrys for free, and until they run out. They likely had a certain amount of 'free pastrys' and then needed to have a stock for the rest of the day and regular customers.

    I'm sorry that you weren't able to get a pastry. Please let me know what store you went to so we can follow up with them. The intent of the promotion was for you to try it our new pastries for free. I hope that you come back to try one of our new pastries as we've removed artificial flavors, dyes, trans fats and high fructose corn syrup.

    Sorry, should not have called you an ass when I do not know you… It just irks me when people complain that they cannot get free stuff… The flyer states that they can cancel, amend or revoke the offer at any time. They exercised that right…

    What you fail to realize is that this is a promotion and one that Starbucks doesn't HAVE to do. Pretend it's any other day and that you would have to pay for it. It would be different if you had asked for a pastry to pay for and they said they were out, when clearly they weren't. Stop complaining!!
