Macworld is a big deal in the bay area. This past week, the streets of SOMA were packed every day.
One day 1, I attend visited with exhibit hall. I had to find Terry Chay:
His phone was dying, so Brian Caldwell let him borrow a solar-powered iPhone charger.
The big news was Apple’s thinnovation. Honestly, the MacBook Air is sweet. It’s so lightweight, and the trackpad is huge. Here is the demo table:
Caldwell also demoed Plasq’s newest product, Doozla. It’s a really cool drawing application. I think it will be a hit.
My favorite booth at Macworld was Google’s.
To get schwag, you had to complete all their demos.
My favorite game they had was GeoBingo.
The bingo cards were maps of the world, with five red pushpins on selected countries. Using , they would call our countries, and the first person to get all of their five countries called out wins the game. The winner had their choice of Google socks, sandals, a magnetic dashboard thingy for your cell phone.
Overall, I was underwhelmed by the expo. All I really wanted to see was the keynote. Maybe next year.
