As I was watching Buzz Out Loud today, I felt eerily comfortable interacting with a podcast.
Maybe it’s because I was watching Leo Laporte for six hours straight yesterday.
Laporte was giving hints about his new project yesterday on air, and it sounds like he is gonna be spending a lot of time in front of the camera. And you can interact with him.
CNET’s podcast of indeterminate length is a lot more fun live. Besides the fact that I don’t have to wait for Jason to post the mp3 file, I can follow a chatroom of commentary that expands on the topics being discussed. If I stick around until after the recording is over, maybe I can come up with a clever show title too.
This is my favorite type of media today. Imagine watching all of your favorite TV shows live with a chat room on the side. It may sound overwhelming, but you can interact as much or as little as you want.
It’s basically free to publish today, and that includes video.
It’s only a matter of time before YouTube profile pages will have a live video element.
