Honor Code
1. Student Pledge
As a member of the Big Lick University community, I will not participate in or tolerate dishonest, rude or illegal behavior.
2. Student Behavior
The pledge to uphold the Honor Code includes an understanding that all submitted work is your own. It also includes an understanding that you treat everyone in the Big Lick University community with respect and dignity.
Although not exhaustive, the following list serves as a guide to help you understand what is expected at Big Lick:
- All information submitted, files uploaded or information shared should be owned by you;
- While you are encouraged to share your opinions, beliefs and ideas on this campus, you will respect all other users and refrain from malicious name-calling or insults;
- You will avoid using the dirtiest of dirty words (if you need help, see George Carlin’s “Seven Dirty Words”)
- You may not falsify data of any kind, about yourself or anyone else;
- You may not submit anything unlawful, pornographic, defamatory, libelous, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, invasive of another's privacy or harms minors in any way;
- You may not submit anything that harasses, degrades, intimidates or is hateful toward an individual or group of individuals on the basis of religion, gender, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age or disability;
- If you become aware of an Honor Code violation, you must take responsible action, by notifying the campus dean or the campus police department.
3. Punishment
Refusing to follow Big Lick University’s Honor Code can lead to your dismissal from the campus community. The first time you are found to be in violation of the code, you will be issued a stern warning. The second time, you will be suspended from the site for a time in accordance with the severity of the violation. The third time, you will be expelled, and you will not be allowed to re-register.
