There is a special drink that was served in the downtown bars of Buffalo, NY a few years ago, and my uncle Chuck calls it "The Duke". Immediately, I remember my grandfather’s favorite saying, "Put your dukes up".
The original Duke was 1 part Smirnoff Vodka, 1 part UNsweetened ice tea, and a splash of cranberry juice. The mixture of flavors neutralize, and the drink goes down easy like citris flavored water.
I was telling my new roommate about this drink, and she decided to make her own variation of the specialty. It’s called the Friscy Lady. I spelled it wrong so the word frisky models the nickname for San Francisco. Her recipe:
1 part Ketel One vodka
1 part green & white tea
A splash of Reed’s extra ginger brew
A touch of fresh mint
It’s so good I had to blog about it. Try it, and let me know if you like it
