I can remember when used to be right behind CNN and MSNBC, and it seems like yesterday. But in today’s “Web 2.0″ atmosphere, other services are engaging users.
There are two new, fairly healthy sites that do just that. Inform, just out of beta, is great because they have hired mathematicians, scientists, and even taxonomists to build advanced algorithms to organize semantic objects. The site looks really good, and most of the top stories are interesting.
Another great invention is Newsvine. These startups are capturing the true essence of the future of online journalism: user-edited content.
