Google’s homepage art today has a chocolate-covered strawberry for a lowercase g, and it kinda looks like it spells “Googe”. Did Google mean to do this?
Further research reveals that there was a 16th Century poet named Barnabe Googe, and one of his most famous one-liners was, “I did but see her passing by, and yet I love her till I die.”
Or could it be a reference to Debbie Googe, the bassist from 80s Irish rock band My Bloody Valentine?
Or maybe that little green strawberry stem is supposed to be an “L”. Oh well, the power of the Internet amazes us everyday, and it just proves that Google is still one step ahead of us.
