I only met Eliot one time this past summer in Incline Village, Tahoe. He was a blast and I could tell what a great person he was. Breanden always raved about the guy. I'm sorry I couldn't have gotten to know him better. I wish you all the very best in this difficult time and to his family especially. Rest in peace Eloit.

L was a friend of mine too. We were in college together, spending shitwads of time together on GEO field trips. He was a constant source of entertainment and joy but moreover of mystery. His life seemed to indicate that his dominant passion was adventure and exploration of the world and its fiery origins, but his collegiate personality seemed staunchly frat boy based! We spent years wondering which L was the real one. I think we know now.
I'm glad he spent his last moments the best he could, but I know he would have preferred to get back to the trailhead, have a brew with his friend and die on the way to the campsite. He would have had a few more hours to squeeze an intimate connection with the beauty of the world and his companions through it into his Nalgene.

Andrew,

If you went to high school with Eliot, you would have been lucky enough to know Eliot longer than I. I got to know him my junior year at Princeton, and we were roommates our senior year. There are a lot of tears being shed, and a lot of smiles at the same time.

Just want to say that you've put together a beautiful tribute. Though we all lost a great man, in just 24 short years that great man touched many hearts, and his reach extended far past his wingspan.

I met Eliot in Kamchatka, as the whole group. We had a wonderful time there, it was just perfect.
He was very talkative! and sensitive. a link between people, a person you love at once.
We talked of future trips and future adventures at the other side of the world.
I am glad I met Eliot. he will always be with each of us.
I think of his family, we are all with you.

This is so tragic..Eliot was always such a nice guy. We went to France together during our DMS days.. We had so much fun..he made everyone laugh. I'll always remember that classssiic comment at the 2004 west graduation…RIP bud.

Very unreal man. My heart goes out to him and his family in this difficult time. I know that when I lost my father, Eliot was there to make sure I was alright. He will be dearly missed. He has done more than any of us can imagine in 24 years. I'll never forget our time in Pasadena together and becoming Eagle Scouts. He is a great man and I will never forget him. You're the man Amish!
